Switching is available online via 'Quote and Transact' for ISA, Junior ISA, Pension and Investment Accounts. Cash and exchange traded investments can be included in both the buy and sell side of a switch instruction.
All switches are unit based but can also be instructed in monetary amounts or percentages.
For help in obtaining a signed client instruction to place a switch on their account, we have produced an online switch capture form. Please note this is not an application form and should not be sent to us.
Frequently asked questions
We will sell on the first working day and buy on the second working day. The exception is if the fund being sold prices the day after the cut-off point, which could mean the buy takes place on the third working day. The completion date will depend on the settlement period of the asset being switched into.
For bulk switches, deals may be aggregated and placed at different cut-off points depending on the funds. All bulk switch instructions require the sell deals to price before the buy deals can be placed. Therefore, for any funds that price the day after the dealing cut-off point, the processing time can be extended to up to five working days for these types of transaction. Please note that bulk switching is only available on ISAs and Investment Accounts.
