Fees & Charges

There are four different types of fees and charges that your clients might pay:

  • Adviser fees, Fidelity's fees and the ongoing management charges for each investment company are covered in the ‘Charges’ page below
  • There are also dealing charges for exchange traded investments, covered in the ‘ETI dealing charges’ page below.

We believe you and your clients should always know what charges we make when investing with us. Here we explain, in simple terms, how our fees and charges work and provide a guide you can share with your clients.

About our charges

We support ‘clean’ share class (unbundled) funds and there are no initial or switching charges (on non-ETI trades). However, some fund management companies have a buy or sell charge and some funds may have a bid-offer spread.

There are four different types of fees and charges that your clients might pay:

  • Adviser fees, which are organised with your client and paid to you. More on this service.
  • Our fees, which are made up of:
    • The Investor Fee – an annual fee of £45
      • The Investor Fee is collected as an ongoing monthly payment of £3.75.
      • This covers all holdings held in a client’s sole name irrespective of how much is held in their ISA, Pension and Investment Account.
      • Any investor who has a sole account pays the Investor Fee in their own right, and there is a separate Investor Fee for each unique set of names for joint accounts.
      • There is no Investor Fee for a child who has a Junior ISA or Junior Pension, or for any client who only has a SIPP and/or bond administered by Standard Life.
    • The Service Fee – an annual percentage fee of 0.25% on assets held, excluding cash
      • This is collected monthly from product cash (default option), with any shortfall made up by redeeming units from either a nominated fund or the largest fund held within the client’s account.
      • It is calculated on the 1st of each month and is deducted on or around the 1st of the following month, so it is paid in arrears.
  • Ongoing management charges for each fund held by the client charged by the investment company/manager.
  • Dealing charges for exchange traded investments (ETIs) – transaction charges vary depending upon the service provided. Stamp Duty Reserve Tax of 0.5% may also apply. Full details of the charges relating to ETIs.
