The benefits of moving clients online

Our online service offers clients lots of benefits. In addition to cutting down on the amount of paperwork they receive through their letterbox, clients can also perform some basic administrative tasks themselves. This saves time for you as well.

Clients are able to:

  • View the latest valuation of their investments and accounts whenever they wish
  • Download all their important documents, such as their latest Statement & Valuation and any Confirmation of Transaction (they still have the option to receive paper copies)
  • Complete simple tasks online, such as updating their personal details when these change
  • Manage their investments (we recommend they speak with you before making any adjustments)
  • Download our highly-rated mobile App, so they can view their account wherever they may be.

If clients elect to go paperless, they will also be helping to reduce the impact on the environment. More and more of our clients are choosing this option and, in doing so, they help us to reduce our carbon footprint.

A report can be downloaded from Client Management, which shows which clients have (or have not) signed up for this service. Simply log in, then click 'Firm', then 'Reporting Services' and the 'Account Information' report can be accessed from there. You can also access a 'client list report' that shows data on when a client last logged into their online account.

We fully understand the importance of keeping clients' information safe and secure. We use proven, industry-recognised security tools and processes to protect against fraud and security breaches and we regularly upgrade this protection in response to advances in security threats. 

Fidelity is a member of Cifas, the UK’s fraud prevention agency, which works closely with law enforcement partners. Cifas Protective Registration is a fraud protection scheme that helps us protect your clients should they be at risk of fraud.

Signing up for an online account is quick and easy. Clients should:

Clients will need their 10-digit Fidelity Customer Reference Number (which begins with 100), National Insurance Number or Fidelity Account Number, a mobile number and access to their email. Our step-by-step guide can also take them through this straightforward process.

To make things easy for advisers, we have produced an email template with some suggested wording that can be used. Alternatively, you can include this guide with your communications. We also provide further details on our mobile App to help your discussions with clients.
